The Annual Report 2008 demonstrates how the EBRD uses its investments, expertise and knowledge across sectors to bring sustainable growth and transition in its countries of operations from central Europe to central Asia. The year 2008 was an historic watershed: within twelve months the world moved from rapid economic expansion to the most severe contraction in living memory.
