The European Environment Agency's European Ecosystem Assessment (EURECA) initiative, the first phase of which was completed in 2008, will assess the state of ecosystems in Europe in 2010 and their possible development beyond 2010. The European Environment Agency (EEA) will deliver the first assessments in 2011, with more following in subsequent years.
