Report of the launch congress of Italy's new consolidated right-leaning political party, People of Liberty, led by Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 27-29 March 2009.

The new party is a merger of Mr Berlusconi’s Forza Italia, and the rightwing National Alliance led by Gianfranco Fini.
Eleven small parties have also joined, including the rightwing faction led by Alessandra Mussolini, grand-daughter of the late dictator.
