77% of Europeans think that stronger coordination of economic and fiscal policies among EU Member States would be effective in fighting the economic crisis, according to the Autumn 2010 Eurobarometer, the bi-annual opinion poll organised by the EU. The survey was conducted from mid-November to early December 2010 and published today. 75% of Europeans support a stronger supervision by the EU of the activities of the most important international financial groups, an increase of three percentage points from the last Eurobarometer in Spring 2010. The support for strong EU action to resolve the crisis comes as the European Commission approved today the first Annual Growth Survey, which launches the "European Semester" that will ensure better upstream coordination of fiscal and economic policies.
