Press Release: Declaration by the Presidency on behalf of the EU following the launch of the first direct air and sea links between the two shores of the Taiwan Strait

The European Union welcomes the launch on 15 December 2008 of the first direct air and sea links between the two shores of the Taiwan Strait. These links give concrete expression to the agreements reached at the unofficial discussions round between the two shores in November 2008.
