EU Washington Forum, 21-22 November, Washington DC

The EU Washington Forum (EUWF) is an annual event of the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) organised with the support of the European Commission. This year's event was an official launch of the EUWF, and its timing, two weeks after the election of the new US President, Barack Obama, meant that the debates focused on the implications of the change for US foreign policy, global governance and transatlantic relations. The Forum, entitled ‘A New Departure: Global Challenges and EU-US Policies after the American Elections’ took place at the Park Hyatt, Washington DC on 20-21 November 2008.
