Ukraine's parliament announced o the 9 October 2008 the formation of a pro-west governing coalition, in a surprise move that could help the country in its effort to respond to the impact of the global economic crisis. The administration will be the latest attempt to bring together followers of President Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, prime minister - former allies who have fought a bitter power-struggle since working together in the 2004 Orange Revolution.
