China’s energy policy in the light of climate change, and options for cooperation with the EU

This paper briefly introduces China's new comprehensive energy security policy. It attempts to shed light on how the European Union is trying to take advantage of this move, by stepping up its efforts to promote green energy and simultaneously tapping China's vast market. Finally, an assessment is made of the success of this European approach for wind and solar energy, clean coal technologies, natural gas, hydro-power and biofuel.
