Trevor Sargent, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, on 22 October 2008, gave a presentation to the Committee on his Department's proposals for food labelling with regard to country of origin. The proposals related in particular to labelling of poultry, pigmeat and sheepmeat and on products containing 70% or more of these meats. The discussion took place within the context of the proposed new EU labelling regulation. |
