The Italian government has agreed November 2008 to sell the bankrupt airline Alitalia to the CAI business consortium. The formal agreement to the deal was made on the 12 December 2008 when both Air One and Alitalia were taken over by the consortium Compagnia Aerea Italiana (CAI) and merged.
