A new strategy which sets out the way that the UK Government will work with the World Health Organisation, the EU and a number of other partners to improve the health of the world's population was launched by the UK Government on 30 September 2008. 'Health is global' is the first cross-government strategy to highlight the breath of challenges that lie ahead in the area of global health. The strategy outlines a set of principles and actions that the UK Government will focus on over the next five years to improve the health of across the world, including the United Kingdom. The strategy highlights the importance of coherence and consistency in government policy and identifies ways the UK can work even more effectively with its partners to deliver better health outcomes. |
