The Committee considered five Commission working papers on progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), including 'Financing for Development', 'Effectiveness of Aid', 'Aid for Trade' and 'Policy Coherence for Development'. The documents were referred to the European Committee for debate by the European Scrutiny Committee, which considered them in May 2008.
