Groups of ravens have been behind an increasing number of deadly attacks on Welsh livestock, farmers warned, May 2008. Farming union leaders say the sudden rise in attacks can be attributed to European regulations decreeing that dead cows, sheep, goats and horses need to be disposed of in licensed animal disposal facilities. Prior to that animals were either left where they were as “carrion” or were taken to designated carcass dumps.
