EU-US High-level Regulatory Cooperation Forum meets in Brussels today

Established by the 2005 EU-US Summit, the High-level Regulatory Cooperation Forum met in Brussels on 25 April, 2008. With the overall aim of avoiding unnecessary divergences in the way the EU and US regulate, the Forum brought together senior regulators to compare experiences and to identify best practices. The meeting discussed joint efforts to strengthen transatlantic cooperation on the safety of imported products and how the EU and the US consult the public when developing regulation.
