Trans-Dniester in landmark talks

Moldova's President Vladimir Voronin has met the leader of the breakaway Trans-Dniester region, Igor Smirnov, for the first time in seven years, April 2008.

Following the dispute in August 2008 over the disputed regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in Georgia, there were stirring in Trans-Dniester.
