Article reports that Eurozone central bank governors are striking an upbeat tone, March 2008, on the region’s economic prospects in an apparent attempt to banish pessimism and signal their resistance to interest rate cuts in the 15-country bloc. In recent media interviews, the heads of the central banks in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg have seen no reason to expect a sharp decline in growth this year and little sign of a “credit crunch” hitting economic activity.
