Industrial action by Parliament temporary staff disrupted broadcasts from the Commission’s central broadcasting service Europe By Satellite (EBS) on Tuesday. Audiovisual temporary staff complain that Parliament has not made it clear whether they will continue in their old jobs from January, when a new production company is expected to take over audiovisual and photographic services. The European Commission has delayed adopting a proposal aimed at cleaning up member states’ patchwork of different rules for copyright levies on blank recording media and digital music file players such as Apple’s iPod. |
