MEPs disrupt EU charter signing

Hans-Gert Pöttering, European Parliament President, José Manuel Barroso, Commission President, and José Sócrates, Portuguese Prime Minister and President-in-office of the EU Council, signed the Charter of Fundamental Rights in a formal ceremony at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, 12 December 2007.

The signing ceremony was disrupted by some Members of the European Parliament who want referendums on EU reforms.
