New Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on 23 November 2007 that Warsaw was sticking by the previous government's decision not to adopt the EU charter of fundamental rights in order that his government will be able to ratify the Treaty of Lisbon (Reform Treaty) without it being opposed by President Lech Kaczynski and his supporters.
