Developments in ESDP

During the first half of 2007 the implementation of plans developed over the preceding years for ESDP seemed to make substantial progress, not least in the provision of military capabilities, but there are caveats. The following discussion takes its starting point from some significant
events in the provision of EU military capabilities and will touch upon aspects of the wider context, including the relationship with NATO, of developments in ESDP.
