The European Commission on 12 April 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the copper-clad glass fabric laminates business belonging to the Cookson Group plc of the UK ('Polyclad') by Isola S.a.r.L of the US ('Isola'). Both companies were active in the market for copper-clad glass fibre laminates, which are used in the production of printed circuit boards. After examining the operation the European Commission had concluded that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
