On 27 February 2003, almost one year after the replacement of the peseta by the euro as the legal tender currency in Spain, the Spanish Minister for the Economy, Rodrigo Rato, presented the book, 'Spain and the euro', as a testimony, for future generations, of the work carried out over the years to make a success of this historical event.
