Press Release: New Members of Consumer Committee (CC) appointed

The European Commission appointed on the 6 September 2000 twenty leading representatives of European and national consumer organisations as members of its renewed Consumer Committee. The Committee is an advisory body which is regularly consulted by the Commission on issues concerning consumer interests at Community level. The Committee consists of one representative per Member State plus five representatives from the European wide consumer associations. Its membership is renewed every three years.
