Social Protocol legislation to be extended to UK. The Commission has adopted two proposals for Council Directives aimed at extending to the UK two Directives - on the burden of proof in cases of sex discrimination and on part-time work - adopted last December under the Protocol on Social Policy. The Directives do not currently apply to the UK by virtue of its opt-out of the Social Chapter.
