The intellectual summit in Rotterdam marked the provisional end of a series of international conferences organised by the Nexus Institute to deal with the question: What is Europe? In the view of Atzo Nicolai, Minister for European Affairs, Europe is more than a beautiful idea. He said that what makes Europe unique is the rule of law, respect for diversity and the constructive use of doubt.
