Press Release: Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potočnik visits Mexico and US

European Science and Research Commissioner will make his first official visit to Mexico from 9 to 12 February. While there he will meet science and technology ministers from 6 Central American Countries, visit Mexican research institutions and take part in the launch event of a programme designed to boost scientific co-operation between the EU and Mexico. He will then proceed to Washington DC, where he will meet the Director of the National Institutes of Health, Dr Elias Zerhouni, and officials of the US government. On 15 February, he will take part in the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the biggest international scientific gathering.
