Maritime policy: European Union legislation and objectives for sea transport

This booklet outlines the current legislative framework for European Union maritime transport policy, and describes the Commission's main policy concerns and directions in this area for the period 2002-10. It explains the key position of maritime transport within the overall strategy for sustainable transport set out in the recent transport policy White Paper, 'European transport policy for 2010 : time to decide' (see Related URL 2).
