Consultation document. Implementation of the directive on privacy and electronic communications

Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (Directive on privacy and electronic communications) was adopted on 12 July 2002 and requires implementation in Member States by 31 October 2003. A public consultation on how to implement this Directive was launched in the UK on 27 March 2003. Closing date for responses: 19 June 2003.
