Following the meeting on 14.2.01 between Commissioners Monti, Diamontopolou and Reding with the President of FIFA, Mr Blatter and the President of UEFA, Mr Johanssen, another round of technical discussions on the subject of football transfers was held on 28.2.01. Substantive talks took place on the conditions under which contracts can be breached unilaterally, and how training compensation for young players should be calculated. The Commission remains optimistic that outstanding issues can all be resolved. |
