Internal Market Committee debates report on the services directive

The long awaited draft report by Evelyne Gebhardt (PES, DE) on services in the internal market was presented in full to the European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection on 24 May 2005. All speakers congratulated the rapporteur on her Herculean labours. But differences persist between supporters and opponents of the initial draft directive unveiled in 2003 by the European Commission.
