Strauss-Kahn jumps on EU soapbox

Following the 2000 Lisbon European Council and the 2001 Göteborg European Council, the European Commission established a sustainable development Round Table of independent experts reporting directly to Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission. The Round Table is chaired by Dominique Strauss-Kahn, and the Group's final report was published on 18 May 2004. The article reports that Mr Strauss-Kahn has admitted that while he has taken account of the views of all members of the Group, the content and proposals of the report are his. The article goes on to analyse the report's proposals.
