EU agrees plan to send asylum seekers back to Afghanistan

At a Justice and Home Affairs meeting on 28 November 2002, European Union ministers agreed a common programme on 28 November 2002 to send up to 100,000 asylum seekers back to Afghanistan. Under the repatriation plan for Afghanistan, 1,500 people will be returned to the country from April 2003.
