Competitiveness Council (Internal Market, Industry and Research), 1-2 March 2010

A meeting of the Competitiveness Council was held on 2 March 2010. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Adoption of conclusions on industrial policy, following a debate on key objectives for establishing the principles for a new industrial policy;

+ Exchange of views on the future strategy for the creation of growth and jobs;

+ Adoption of a resolution aimed at enhancing the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the internal market;

+ Adoption of conclusions on the mobility and careers of researchers;

+ Adoption of conclusions on ways to improve the structure of the European Research Council;

+ Decision to introduce restrictive measures against Eritrea;

+ Adoption of a common position regarding a draft regulation on trade in timber.
