On 24 June development cooperation minister Agnes van Ardenne announced a series of new European agreements to speed up the development of an AIDS vaccine and vaginal microbicides. In a statement just ahead of the Dutch Presidency of the EU, the minister warned that they could take years to develop, unless more is done
