European Commission and the International Labour Organization agreed 19 July 2004 on a strategic partnership to reinforce their joint efforts to reduce poverty and improve labour conditions in developing countries. The partnership will also foster closer collaboration towards the achievement of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the ILO's Decent Work for All Agenda and other internationally agreed development targets. The aim is to make the greatest possible contribution to strengthening the social dimension of development cooperation. |
