Speech: On Russia’s trade restrictions on Lithuanian goods

Text of a speech by Karel De Gucht, European Trade Commissioner at the European Parliament Plenary, Strasbourg, 8 October 2013.

De Gucht referred to Russia's customs restrictions on Lithuanian dairy products and emphasised that the Commission has confidence in the safety of these products.

MEPs stressed that not only Lithuania, but the whole of the EU was concerned. They called on the European Commission to use all available means to remedy the situation swiftly.
