European Commissioner for ecternal relations, Chris Patten, will represent the European Commission at this pledging conference at which 65 countries have been invited to participate, along with the international financial institutions, UN, UN aid agencies, international aid organisations, NGOs. The Afghan Interim Authority will also be represented. The Commission is a joint Co-Chair (with the EU Presidency) of the ARSG. The other co-chairs are US, Japan and Saudi Arabia. |
