Commission moves ahead on cutting red tape for service sector while guaranteeing the protection of posted workers

The European Commission published on 13 June 2007 its assessment of national measures applied by member states in the context of supervising the posting of workers, as well as the situation in terms of administrative cooperation. The aim of this assessment was to detect obstacles to the free provision of services within the internal market while continuing to ensure adequate protection for posted workers.

The document was a follow-up to the Communication published in April 2006 which provided guidance on the application of the posting of workers directive.
