Charlemagne. Existential dreaming

Commentary feature suggests that pro-Europeans have two broad and incompatible visions for the future of the European Union: the first is called the 'existentialists', who approve of European co-operation for the sake of it and the principle of 'ever closer union'. The second is called the 'instrumentatlists', which talks of a 'Europe of results' .
