Press Release: Commissioner Piebalgs attends the 2nd Ministerial Conference between the EU and the States of the Black and Caspian Seas’ regions

Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs will participate in the 2nd Ministerial Conference of the Baku Process in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on 30 November 2006. The 1st Energy Ministerial Conference was held in Baku on 13 November 2004 and set the framework for enhanced energy cooperation between the EU and the countries of Black and Caspian Seas as well as their neighbours. “This is a historical opportunity to enhance the energy cooperation between two regions of the world that have so much to win from friendly and constructive cooperation”, Commissioner Piebalgs said.
