Warning over new EU immigration

Report of a leaked document, 'Migration from Eastern Europe: Impact on Public Services and Community Cohesion', written by junior (UK) Home Office Minister Joan Ryan and leaked to the Mail on Sunday, 30 July 2006. It discusses the impact of significant immigration into the UK from people of the countries which joined the EU in 2004. Subsequently, ex-Labour minister Frank Field warned that the UK should restrict the right of Bulgarians and Romanians to work in the UK when they join the EU in 2007.
