The European Commission has decided to refer Italy to the Court of Justice for failing to comply with a Commission decision of 16 March 2005. This decision declared aid granted by Italy to newly listed companies in the form of fiscal incentives incompatible with the Single Market and ordered Italy to recover the aid from the recipients (see IP/05/304). However, the Italian authorities have not yet taken any concrete, effective steps to recover the aid. |
