Afghanistan – Bolstering the rule of law

The EU is adding a significant new element to its longstanding commitment to Afghanistan. Following an invitation from the government, it is conducting a police mission in the
framework of the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). The launch ceremony of the mission – EUPOL AFGHANISTAN – took place on 17 June 2007 in Kabul.
