In an interview with the Financial Times, Jan Pociatek, Slovakia's new finance minister, says he will resign if his government does not stick to the 2009 target date for adopting the euro, in a move aimed at reassuring nervous financial markets. Nevertheless, markets remain nervous of the way the new left leaning government will change existing policies.
