The purpose of the Commission’s proposal was to define the tasks of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the scope of its assistance with regard to the “Convergence”, Regional Competitiveness and employment”, and European Territorial cooperation” objectives. It also laid down specific rules applicable to the territorial cooperation programmes between more
than one Member States.
