This research report explores the employment of migrants from East and Central Europe in low-wage occupations in the United Kingdom - agriculture, construction, hospitality and au pair work - and what determines employer demand for migrant labour in these sectors. The study, conducted before and after enlargement of the EU on 1 May 2004, involved surveys and interviews with over 600 migrants and 500 employers.
