The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, addressed MEPs in a formal sitting in the European Parliament on the 16 May 2006.. He stressed that there was a Palestinian partner for peace with Israel, and rejected unilateral solutions to the border question. He also called the new Palestinian government to "be given the chance to adapt to the basic requirements of the international community." |
