Quartet to seek ways to avert PA fiscal crash

Members of the Middle East Quartet - comprising the UN, the EU, the US and Russia - were due to meet at the end of February 2006 to discuss ways of averting the imminent financial collapse of the Palestinian Authority. The new Hamas-led Government has not yet taken office but the outgoing PA Government faces a deficit of up to €312 million for February and March 2006.
