The European Commission on 3 March 2006 began to act against the rising tide of protectionism in the European Union by writing to the French Government asking for an explanation of its role in the merger of Gaz de France and Suez. The Polish Government will also receive a warning for violating the Commission's sole jurisdiction over pan-European mergers. |
