Press Release: Commission approves Code of Good Behaviour for relations with the public

The Commission today adopted a Code of Good Administrative Behaviour for its relations with the public. Adoption of this Code marks another step in developing the culture based on service, which is a central commitment of the Reform Strategy White Paper. The new Code will guide Commission staff in their dealings with the public, and inform the public of the standards of service that they are entitled to expect in their dealings with the Commission. The Code sets high but achievable standards. The Commission's efforts to meet these standards will be supported by a programme of training for staff, public information, and regular monitoring.
